Provide a strip of pieced fabric at least the length of the top of the finished quilt by 9 inches wide. This makes a 4” wide sleeve. A split sleeve can be used for wide quilts to allow for a hanging hook in the centre.
Note: If your quilt will be entered into a competition or quilt show, please check the requirements for sleeve width as some require 6” sleeves. Your fabric strip would then need to be 13” wide.
